Lisapi's Adventures Diary #1

I don't know where to start this first L'sA diary as I've been doing different stuff:

I started by revising one of the main mechanics of the game because as I get more experience I'm learning new ways to optimize the code and what was in this mechanic wasn't optimized at all and it was a mess. It is 75% functional and the interface is 50% finished.

I decided to put it aside because as I was thinking of things to introduce I realized that I needed to do other things beforehand. So in order not to get overwhelmed, I started working on the maps.

The maps are 99% designed and finished, but I still need to make some small tweaks, add details, change the colours of the walls, etc. Here you have the locations that will be available in the first version (I don't include the central plaza, Mona's shop, Lumber MT. because you have already seen those maps).

Let's start with the public baths, a place where all the inhabitants of the Gold Valley gather to bathe and relax.

Your favourite friend waves to you in the distance.

As it is a public bath, privacy is shared with the others, you know... This area will only be accessible if you have the pee fetish enabled.

This map will be the residential area where most of the inhabitants live. This is where Mabel's house is, so it is an accessible map from the beginning.

Talking about Mabel's house... After the builders have almost completely renovated her house, this will be the final result.

Perhaps the layout looks a bit familiar? Obviously, I have been inspired by the Manor. The main reason is that it was the first map I designed when I started with LA and it served as an apprenticeship so I wanted to do the same thing. The first L'sA map I designed is Mabel's house inspired by the Manor.

The management room, one of the rooms.  It is simpler than the one in LA but still lacks a workbench in the middle.

Mabel's room. Maybe I'll change the colour of the bed so as not to saturate the view with green.

Lisapi's room, your room. Simple but with some subtle details. That chest is not just an asset but today is not the time to talk about that feature.

The bed will stay that colour as it is the MC's bed.

Moving on to the next room explains why there is no wardrobe in Lisapi's room. This room will be used for outfits and this room is called "Posaqiray room". Hmmm, that name sounds familiar...

After doing all this, I started to get really overwhelmed to the point that I preferred to stop working on L'sA until the next LA beta because I started to realize that a lot of work is needed for all the things I want to include in the first version. You might think that I might not include too many things, the problem is that they are important game mechanics. What will happen? Instead of 3-4 main girls available, there will be only 2.

As in every start of a project, there are a lot of changes:

When L'sA was born, you were going to meet the girls in the same order as LA so Anna, Yuna, and Mara would be the first ones available in v0.1.0 but... after a lot of thinking, I'm going to give full prominence to the secondary girls and the life that all those girls live in Gold Valley. Obviously, along with the story, we will unlock the main girls (LA) but for the moment it won't be the goal. This doesn't mean that we won't interact in one way or another with them, for example, in this first version, we will be able to interact with Mara in the Refuge.

Knowing all that and having decided on it, I started to think carefully about the different features. Although I still have to define most of them in detail, I have written down everything and I'm thinking every day about how I want to introduce them.

So I started to work on it and I started with the simplest: Your own panel.

Another day we'll talk about the "Aspirants" section, which is not the definitive name for this feature...

I've taken advantage of the stats panel of LA to use it here. In order to be familiar with both games, the profession Lisapi will be playing will be labeled as a specialisation just like in LA.

In L'sA there will also be the hardmode with its advantages, although I haven't detailed how it will work yet, I need to have the normal mode finished for that.

The rest of this week I've been working on the crafting system which luckily has been literally copy, paste, and adapt. That doesn't mean there won't be small changes.

Mabel:

In this panel, you will spend most of your time at least until you unlock your first apprentice. But we'll talk about that in the future.

In this panel, you will make different packages according to the needs of the girls in the town.

This can be a bit confusing if you don't remember what the main mechanics of the game is about... I'll give more details when I have more to show you but remember that Mabel is the Gold Valley Mailwoman but she also delivers different kinds of packages/articles and you will be her Assistant and work with her in her house. Maybe it doesn't sound too 10/10 IGN but living with Mabel I think it adds up. Anyway, the main plot is to live different adventures all over the LA universe and it won't be focused on saving the world (although we will participate in important events related to that).

Mostly I want to focus on Lisapi being totally independent but at the same time having a very close and romantic relationship with Mabel. Romantic doesn't mean that there won't be perversions and other naughty stuff between them and/or other girls. We will talk about it when the time comes.

Last but not least, I've been testing with a new lighting setup: I've been playing a bit with the bloom and the shadow type... I'll show you the result to see if you notice the difference:

LA:

L'sA:

I don't put it in the same image because you wouldn't be able to appreciate it.

Perhaps you will appreciate it better this way...

LA:

L'sA:

I'm still wondering whether to use it for L'sA or just use the LA setting because although it gives an "enchanted" effect I'm not 100% sure that everyone will like the change between the two games. Maybe I'll keep testing or maybe I'll make a poll when I start rendering.

And that's all I've been able to work on these days! I've also been doing things with the code, preparing a lot of variables... the boring part in short.

The next L'sA diary will be in the next LA beta, so a bit of patience for those interested in this side project.

PS: Now that I remember, I'm surprised that after announcing the new L'sA channels on Discord quite a few people were interested. I honestly thought that very few people were going to be interested due to the fact that it's a game totally focused on lesbianism. So I'm happy about your interest and I thank you for it.
