Dev Diary: Week #37
I didn't want to end the week without writing a diary to keep you updated. So here we go.
First of all, I have two (three) important things to say:
First, something I forgot to mention in the last diary and in the overview... is that the ‘libido’ system won't exist for now. The reason? It's simple; it's something that fits better with the hard mode, and that mode is not available at the moment and won't be until the end of the project, so... I decided to rule it out entirely for the modes that are available now and leave it for later. This usually happens behind the scenes, but as I told you about this whole system, I wanted to let you know why I mentioned it but if you check the change log, it doesn't appear anywhere that it has been added.
Secondly, the issue with Android. Something I had hopes for, but it has ended up being crazy... I've been working on it for almost a week, and in the end, I decided to give up and stop trying to do the impossible. For an official LA apk to exist, I would have to be able to make the game size less than 2GB, which seemed possible in the tests I did, but those tests appeared to be just an approximation and not at all realistic... The reality is that the game is 1.5GB right now, and I can't make it less than half that. Being able to make it half the size is really good, but... v22 size is around 6GB; I reckon the final game will be 10-12GB; the Android limit for generating an APK is 2GB; if I manage to keep it at half the size, we're talking about 5-6GB. That doesn't sound so good... So, well, another thing ruled out.
It should be noted that even so, I am thinking of at least trying to make a super-compressed version available for PC, and that version will be the one used on Android using the emulator (JoiPlay). In addition, I will update the guide and make new guides. I am even considering recording my phone doing the whole process of adding the game, etc.
And thirdly, the anniversary. Yes, we are close to the fourth anniversary of LA. That means it's time to work on the anniversary, so I will set aside a few days (a week or so) to work exclusively on that. This year was going to be different, but it will be like every other year, and there will be a short game. In fact, I'll try to make sure there's a short game for last year's anniversary because, as you know, I was ill all year, and although LA:M is kind of part of the third anniversary, honestly, I like the dynamic of short games at anniversaries better. Still, it's possible that over the following months, I'll be working on a new short version of LA:M to add Anna/Mara's stories.
Having said that, I will say one last thing before moving on to the spoilers and the post's main content: I am already working on v2.D. In fact, it is already halfway through, and as I want to work on the anniversary stuff for a few days, this v2.D will be short, but it will bring new and interesting things. So, in about two weeks, a beta may be available (this is a rough estimate, so please take it with a grain of salt).
As a reminder, in two weeks, v1.D will be available to any free member, but I plan to make a public version for everyone in a few versions, both on Patreon and on Itch. I'm just mentioning this for anyone who doesn't want to join as a free member and would rather wait for a public version. We'll talk about that another day, but I just wanted to mention it so you'd be aware.
Honestly, I am the first one who wants to finish revising all the old content in both languages because this is what takes the most time for all the work to be done. Luckily, once we meet Alina and Myra, I will hardly have to revise texts in Spanish, and in English, there will only be improvements to be made. So finally, I won't have to do triple the work: Rewrite, translate, improve. Even so, since I've been doing all this, I feel much better about myself, knowing that I'm doing the work the way it should be done because I always put aside all the old content that actually needed a fix, especially the texts. And although I sometimes regret all this, it's more out of laziness than lack of motivation.
The same applies to changing the old content and adding new stuff. Although there are times when I go through a phase of regret, I forget all that when I see the final result. I'm pretty happy in general, although, like you, I'm looking forward to working on new content, moving forward with all this and getting back to where we were.
So, even if it's step by step, we will finally move forward.
What have we got here? Well, something that's been in the planning for a few years: Mabel being available in the evening.
Yes, while the tavern is not available, I always wanted to make Mabel available in the evening, as she's the only secondary girl you can't spend time with in the morning, and she's not available in the evening. At first, it seemed like a good idea because the intelligence stat in the first versions was going to be OP, but over time, I don't think that's the case anymore.
So, after a long time of ruling out the idea, it has finally been implemented.
NOTE: All the texts could change in the final version, and they will obviously have to be translated.
Not only that, but a new mini-feature has also been added: The marketplace.
NOTE: Some details still need polishing, some small changes, etc.
Yes, I know, I could make a tab on each secondary girl for buying/selling stuff, but this way, it's more interesting because there's more interaction with Mabel, and we can see a little more of her.
Anyway, here is a summary of how it works:
- You can sell your leftover materials.
- Every day, a calculation is made on the market, and each material has a different value.
- I also plan to add a tab where you can buy materials and gifts.
Simple and easy for those who prefer to bring out their "Businessman" side.
And now that we will have access to a new area of the house, we will also have access to the outside of the house.
It has no particular use right now apart from being able to collect cotton and some wood. This is intended for future events with the Moonstar who lives with you. I'm adding it now so you can get used to this new area. And if in the future I want to make any girl also be in a different area of the house, I have the outside for that.
As for the rest... everything has been revised in Mara's quest, but I want to finish all this before giving it a final touch, as I want to add a post-scene of Vanessa. I'm talking about when we see Vanessa for the first time.
After finishing the quest and unlocking Mara, two things will happen: We will unlock the entrance/outside of the house, and there will be a post-scene of Vanessa's illusion.
This post-scene will give a little context to something we will unlock in v3, when using the lust power will be possible.
So, to summarise what's coming up in this new version:
- Mara available.
- Mara's level cap 3 (level 5 love/sexiness cap).
- Anna's level cap 3.
- New dirty/love talk for Anna and Mara.
- After finishing the quest in which we meet Mara, we will have a new main quest in which we will talk to Maria about everything related to ranks, tasks, etc., which means unlocking the rank panel, duty, and the first rank quest.
- Mabel available in the evening.
- 2 new small areas available: Entrance and outside the house.
And I won't say anything else just in case, because although I'd like to add a couple more things, I don't want to say them in case I don't have time to add them, because as I said at the beginning, I want it to be a bit shorter so I can have time to work on the anniversary stuff.
And that's it! I won't say goodbye without mentioning that I'm reading all your feedback, which I really appreciate. Yes, there are suggestions, such as wanting to turn the game into ‘Glenda Age’ or having the possibility of having all the professions available. Although on this last point, I will say that we will have to wait for Patricia to move in with us for everything related to the professions and anything that would mean significant changes in that.

Does someone know why the emulator crash 'till certain time playing it in Android? :'v
(I've tried to download the lastest version for Joiplay and the plugin)
There is a way to build a launcher and use it as a zip file on android. There are a couple of creators who do that. Just make sure to include a link to install instructions.
Damn. Gotta admit that I've been keeping Lust Age on my backlog for a while now man, but news like this made it jump pretty damn quick towards the top of my list. Looking forward to trying it this evening, thanks for all the blood, sweat, and tears y'all have put in so far.
I'm glad you've got your eye on LA. The truth is that right now, I'm doing something I should have done at least two years ago, and for the moment, I'm happy with the result. I'd like to hurry up and catch up with the current content, but some changes take time, and I don't want to mess it up again...
In any case, although the main plot remains the same, some things will change compared to the current version. That's why everyone has to start a new game, take it easy, etc.
Appreciate the candor man, just glad to see your passion for the project. Just keep working at your own pace, would be presumptuous in the extreme to ask for anything more. In the meantime, all the best to you and yours, gotta get my nose back to the grindstone.
