Dev Diary: Week #41: Lisapi's News


Hello! I apologise for the delay; I intended to write this a few days ago, but did not have the time. In any case, let us get to the matter at hand.

Please skip this first paragraph if you don't wanna read the summary!

This post covers a variety of topics and will be somewhat lengthy, so here is a summary:

  • I've launched a side project called “Lisapi's News”, which covers news from the LA universe. I plan to summarise everything we discuss here in a different format. I want to post a video every week, but since it takes a lot of work and I only want to spend a few hours on it on the weekends, there may only be a couple of videos a month for now.
  • I'm now on almost every social media platform: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter... Although for now it's to be there in case, I will use different social media to post more content from the LA universe. I'm also going to use it as another way for you to communicate with me directly (except on YouTube and Instagram). Oh, Insta, I'm going to use it as Lisapi's SFW roleplay, so if you're interested in seeing more of her, follow her there. NOTE: Please note that most content that is not repost will be done in my spare time when I have a chance, so don't expect a lot of content outside of the main project.
  • Content I've been working on this week: RPG. Now, the stats cap will be increased dynamically, and to do this, there will be profession quests prior to specialisation.
  • Not only that, but upon completing that quest, you will unlock the possibility for Maria to change your profession and unlock "commissions". These commissions will consist of delivering materials, and you will receive a reward in exchange.
  • And last but not least: In addition to redoing levels 4 of Yuna/Anna/Mara (renders and dialogues), I've added a post-scene in Anna's level 4 that will unlock the possibility of asking her to tell you her breast size. This includes a new interaction (choice) in her room in the morning.
  • IMPORTANT: The beta for this version will be available in early June, possibly during the second week. I still have to work on the new Mara's feature, which will probably take me a whole week.
  • IMPORTANT 2: After the beta, we will discuss the next version, which will include a public release (after the usual release cycle). This version will include all the new content I am working on, plus a final refresh of some things, more community goals, and... much more. We'll talk about it soon, and it will be the main topic of discussion as we'll talk about the present and future of the project. NOTE: As a reminder, after v4, the project will already have a new base and core, so v5 or v6 should bring much more noticeable changes to the story, as we will meet Alina and Myra, but they won't be moving in with us. Not in that version, at least. We'll talk about it soon, because although that's a noticeable change, I think that everything I've shown over the last few months are quite important changes, even though some things may seem like just simple added details.

First things first: Lisapi's News.

Last week, I launched a kind of side project called “Lisapi's News”. The main idea behind it is to publish short videos in a news program format to bring a little more life to the LA universe. Not only that, but the idea is also to briefly summarise what's happening in the universe from time to time, including things I'm working on and usually tell you about here. Since this is the extended version (DDs), I thought making a short video summary might be interesting.I have to admit that although it's interesting, it took me the whole weekend. And even though it was a pain in the ass, I had a really good time. It's worth noting that my idea is only to use a few hours of the weekend to do this, as I don't want to use work hours for side stuff. Also, I guess with time I'll get the hang of it and it will take less time.

So, my idea was to make a weekly video and post it as soon as it was ready (Sunday), but seeing that it takes me a lot of time at the moment, it may not happen on a weekly basis. Maybe every 2-3 weeks.

To sum up: What will you find in these vids? A summary of what I'm working on at that moment, which will be the same as what you see here, but in a different format. You may also see things directly related to the LA universe and everyday life.

I know that the editing may seem a little rough at first, but I haven't thoughtfully edited videos since 2018, so... it will take me a while to get the hang of it. In any case, I hope you like the idea, and if you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment on the videos. But please don't ask for help with technical stuff there. For help, you have other means!


Moving on to something else, although still related to social media... I'm now everywhere. Well, almost:

Even Tumblr, although I'm not sure if I'll post anything there.

How does this work? Except for Instagram, my idea is to have other ways to communicate with you and also to share the content I create. So...

On Facebook, you can see reposts of YouTube videos and any public announcements I make, including DDs, new versions, etc. If I'm not mistaken, you can send me DMs there, so you have another way to talk to me directly for whatever you need.

As I've already explained, YouTube is exclusively for news and trailers. I'm going to try to revive what I was doing at the beginning of the project and work on trailers for the game and girls again.

Tumblr, as I said, I don't think I'll be posting anything there, but I wanted to have it just in case.

And Instagram... Oh, Insta... I know all the social media I'm currently active on are SFW except Twitter, but Instagram... It's the one that would allow me to post roleplay content with Lisapi doing naughty stuff, but instead, the most I can offer is a bad attempt at being an “Instagram model”... Still, I'll be posting things there, but it will be limited to SFW content and will be about Lisapi and her SFW life in the LA universe. Even so, I'm sticking with the roleplay idea because, despite the content limitations, I like the selfie camera, so if anyone wants to keep up with what Lisapi is up to, you know where to follow her. I'll post content there whenever I come up with a silly idea for a pic. It could be every day or once a week.

And that's all for social media. I was going to make a channel on PH since I saw that Nutaku uses it to post the NSFW version of what they post on YouTube, but... huh, I think I already have enough work in my day-to-day to be on even more sites doing even more extra work.

Still, no one is forced to follow me or subscribe anywhere. As always, you'll be up to date through Patreon/Itch. The other sites are just a way to expand the channels of communication and contact.


And now, putting all that aside... the actual content of this post.This week has been a bit peculiar. I started the week with the idea of taking one last quick look at the girls' level 4 and going straight to work on the RPG content for this version, and I ended up redoing practically all the levels 4... I'm talking about Yuna/Anna/Mara. I have redone all the renders of Yuna/Anna/Mara's levels and rewritten at least 50% of those levels.

But that's not this week's topic. This week's topic is: Pre-specialisation.That's right, after much thought over the last few months, it crossed my mind to try to give the MC's stats some lore, so to speak. When the project started, my idea was also to give a lot of importance to your chosen profession, so I decided to implement customised dialogues depending on the chosen profession. The problem is that over time, I left it aside. And yes, it seems contradictory because specialisation has its quests and a bit of background. But... it's not how I would have liked all this to be. So I've decided that from now on, the stat cap will work dynamically through profession quests.

In this version, the first quest/task will be available. The main requirement will be to have 20 points in any stat and to have unlocked Mara. Once we meet the requirements, we will unlock the quest.

It's a short quest in which Maria will give you a task (gather materials), and in exchange, the stat cap will be raised to 30. But that's not all!

Additionally, we will unlock the possibility for Maria to change our profession. This is limited to once per game, but for a small fee, you can ask Maria to change your profession again. As long as you pay, you can change your profession as many times as you want. All this before unlocking specialisation. Once we unlock specialisation, we can no longer change professions. At least not until future content (SPOILER ALERT: Patricia will be in charge of that).

And there's more: Assignments.I was thinking about a new mini-feature, and Lisapi came to my mind. As you know, she will also do jobs/assignments in the future. But no, not the Lisapi from LA, but the one from “Lisapi's Adventures.” The main feature of L'sA came to mind, and I wanted to adapt it to LA in a much more simplified way.

So we can also ask Maria to give us some extra work.

It should be noted that this is now very simple and straightforward. As soon as the Management Room is available, it will be better presented as we will manage the assignments directly from there, with a cool interface and everything.

I'll explain more or less how it works:

  • You talk to Maria and ask her for extra work.
  • She will give you one of three tasks: Fabric (Mona), Wood (Glenda), or Gifts (Mona or Glenda).
  • That task will consist of delivering a certain amount of materials/gifts, and in return, you will be rewarded with Proof of Trust and stat points.

Sounds good, right? Well, although I would have liked it to be different (not using menus), the result fulfils its function and, especially, provides more interaction with Maria, even if it doesn't seem like it. I won't give too much away, but in that quest, you'll learn a bit more about what Maria does on a “business” level outside of GV. It's a first glimpse of what will lead to new content related to commissions/assignments/business in the future.

Since I've mentioned Proof of Trust, I should say that it's my next big goal. I want to find a real use for them in the early game before unlocking the buildings. I have the Marketplace in mind, so I'm sure I'll come up with something.

And I'd say that's all... I know it doesn't sound like much, but coming up with new ideas requires discarding many other ideas until the final idea takes shape, so it's a process that takes some time. Anyway, I've also been doing silly things, like yesterday, when I was working on the post-scene for Anna's level 4 and the new interaction (choice) that will be in her room, so that you can find out her breast size.

PS: Agh... I forgot something important: The beta will be available in early June. I don't think it will be the first week because I still have to do Mara's new feature, which will take me all next week, and I also have to check the achievement points system. But anyway, the beta may be available during the second week of June. No later than.

PS2: After the beta, we'll start talking about what comes next, as a public version will finally be released (but a real one, not a leaked one). And this one will require a little more work, as I'll focus on finishing the project's core (code). In addition, I'll take the opportunity to refresh everything in general (Patreon, Itch, social media, etc.), and add new community goals on all social media (actually just Twitter, Patreon, and Itch), and more!
